Pin-Spiration

Happy Tuesday!

I hope everyone is having a great week.
It has been raining non-stop here since yesterday.
We are currently under a flood warning, but the good news is--
were expecting light snow today.

Since I'm stuck inside I figured I get crafty and complete some of my

DSCF1031

I'm crocheting my first coffee cozy today.
I'm pretty hooked on this crochet thing.

You can find the pattern HERE

I thought I would attempt to make two of these Ruffled Totes.
They will make perfect Christmas gift for friends.

I really need a new book mark, thought I would try out this tutorial

I'm thinking about starting something new here at Keepin it Thrifty.
What do you think about me hosting a link up?

My good friend Chrissy made this button for me.
I'm pretty excited about it!
I know I'm not the only one who is obsessed with Pinterest, So I thought we could do a link up
of all the pins YOU have made from  Pinterest

Monday Motivation--A Thankful Heart

Happy Monday

Monday Motivation & Inspiration

Pinned Image

With this being the week of Thanksgiving, remember to have a thankful heart.
We have so much to be "thankful" for.
There are so many "little" things that we take for granted:
like a good meal to eat, water to drink, air to breathe, clothes on our back & a roof over our head.
I am so thankful for all of these!
I just want to say how thankful I am for all the wonderful friends I have met thru this blog!
Every single comment and e-mail I get makes me smile! Thank you guys!

I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

What are you thankful for?

Just a simple reminder to ALWAYS be yourself!
I have caught myself saying before "I wish I was like her" or "Why can't I be more like that"
When It doesn't matter because we are all special in our OWN way!
Go do what you are BEST at and don't let anyone stop ya!

Project Hope

Have you ever read a post that was so inspiring that it truly touched your heart?
Touched it in a way that as soon as you read it that you had to get involved?
Well...that was me when I met Laura- and heard her story.
I invited Laura to share her story and inspiring project with you today!
Everyone meet Laura
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi there! I'm Laura, the girl behind the blog Splendor.
profile
I am so honored to be here with you today, sharing something that has a huge part of my heart. Project Hope. A project I recently started in order to reach out and offer hope to other mom's like myself who have lost precious babies.

When I lost my first daughter Grace Ann at 20weeks, I was given a box filled with sweet little things to remember her. It meant so much. I couldn't believe people I had never met could care so much. Instead of leaving completely empty handed, I had a box full of special little things to take with me. Her little life valued and honored.

When we lost our second daughter Faith Marie at 24 weeks, we were given a box again. In that box was a little pink bear with a small blanket attached. I can remember holding on to it that night, telling myself I would have another healthy baby girl and I would give her that bear as her own one day.

We were blessed with another baby girl. Our precious daughter Mia Glory. That little bear is her favorite. She has to have it with her all of the time. To see her with it, means more to me than I can ever say. It serves as a reminder of her sweet sister, and of God's goodness and promises fulfilled.

To read more about the heart behind this project you can start here.

I have teamed up with an organization called Threads of Love that makes these memory boxes. I am working with one of the San Antonio chapters, but the organization is nation wide.

October 15th, Project Hope was launched with a goal to make 50 of these boxes.  I am beyond blessed by the hearts of women who have wanted to donate not only their time, but their gifts and talents as well. Each item that will go into these boxes is handmade. Crochet hats and booties, handstamped tokens with the word Hope, and prints of the verse Jeremiah 29:11 are just a few of the items that have been so graciously donated.

Currently we are in need of craft supplies to make these boxes. Each box is decorated special and unique. We need any kind of craft supply you could think of: scrapbook paper, modge podge, lace, strands of pearl, ribbon.

Also, if you crochet, we could use more hats and booties. These can be used by the mom to be put into a shadow box and made as a memory of the baby.

Monetary donations can also be made. Funds will go toward the purchase of craft supplies as well as the boxes. 5$ will buy one of the craft boxes that can be purchased at Hobby Lobby.

You can also go here for a full list of the items needed for the boxes.

If you would like to partner with us to make this possible, I would love to hear from you. You can email me at bitsofsplendor@yahoo.com.

Also, to get updated on all of the Project Hope posts, just click on the "Project Hope Start Here" button on the sidebar of my blog.

You can also help by grabbing a button and spreading the word about Project Hope

Most of all, please keep this is in your prayers as we strive to bring hope to mom's in the moments of their greatest despair. We can't give them all the answers but we can point them in the direction of the One who can!

Thank you for allowing me to share this Andrea. It really means so much to me!!

I'm so excited and honored at the same time to be able to use my crafting ability that God gave me to help benefit a worthy cause!
I know we all know of someone who has lost a child--so why not help out and give these women something special!-Even if it's just donating $5 towards a memory box.

I have recently learned how to crochet--So I am making a special effort to crochet my first baby hat and donate it to Project Hope. Along with other crafting supplies!

Happy Weekend!!

Monday Motivation--Don't Let Others Bring You Down

Happy Monday!

Monday Motivation & Inspiration.

"Don't let anyone rob you of your imagination, your creativity, or your curiosity.
It's your place in the world; it's your life.
Go on and do all you can with it, and make it the life you want to live."

How amazing is that quote?

It spoke to me as soon as I read it. It is such a simple quote, yet such a great reminder.
I need to be reminded not to let what others say about me matter, and to express my creativity.

Pinned Image

SO TRUE.
But how many of us find it hard to accept others when they are not nice to you?
I know right now in my life I am struggling with this terribly.
I'm still going to be the same-good ol' girl as I was taught to be, because in the end,
God will BLESS ME!

What quotes, sayings, verses have inspired you lately?--I would love to read them!

I hope everyone has a wonderful day!
